Koala, (Phascolarctos cinereus), also called koala bear, is a tree-dwelling marsupial of coastal eastern Australia. An adult will range from 24 to 33 inches long and can weigh up to 31 pounds. They have very strong, clawed feet with opposable digits, which make it easy for them to grasp branches. It is a very selective eater and only feeds on leaves of certain eucalyptus trees. Koalas are generally solitary animals and they stay within a home range of more than a dozen trees and normally have one tree they prefer over any others in their range.
